Maple Brown Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
Cookies
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- ¼ cup Crisco® Canola Oil
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ½ tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 3 pkts. Cream of Wheat® Instant Maple Brown Sugar
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
- ¼ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, optional
Glaze
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
Directions
Cookies
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, brown sugar, oil, sour cream and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir in the Cream of Wheat® Instant Maple Brown Sugar, oats, baking powder, baking soda and nuts until well blended.
- Place bowl in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- After chilling, scoop dough onto baking sheet, leaving 1-inch between cookies.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Glaze
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in brown sugar and maple syrup.
- Heat and stir until sugar is melted.
- Add the milk and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Remove from heat and pour into a bowl.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes then stir in the powdered sugar.
- Drizzle over cookies.
